Web Programming

What is web programming? It's the behind the scenes code and scripts that provides functionality to a website or web applications. How does it fit into website development? Let's look at the steps in creating a website to see how this fits in.

  • Planning and Design
This intitial stage is critical and includes interview and planning with the client, graphic designer, and web programmer.

  • Website Design
The graphic designer is key in this step to create the look and feel of the site, including navigation and user interface design. A good design should create a positive user experience.

  • Website Implementation
Once the design has been fine tuned and approved by the client, the web developer creates the web pages that is a skeleton of the website with working navigation and major features in place.

  • Content Creation
The client may create their own content or work with writers, photographers, and other professionals to create their text, image, and/or video content.

  • Content Management
The web programmer will place the intial content into the site. If a Content Management System is installed, this can be used by the client to update website content during testing and review and going forward.

  • Testing & Review
The web programmer, graphic design, and client will all review the website before final launch for any corrections.

  • Launch
The web programmer will launch the site and test any contact form pages and other similiar features. Analytics are installed. SEO descriptions and keywords are checked.

  • Post Launch Support
The web programmer provides post launch support for any minor tweaks that might be needed that are caught after launch.

We use PHP and MySQL for database programming.
